About the event

Discover a deeper connection with yourself, the beauty of nature, and a small circle of like-minded women. This retreat pairs personal growth and mindset coaching with a guided kayak adventure, creating space to breathe, reflect, and align with what you're really seeking.

Part 1: Connection Evening — Saturday, 6:00pm–8:00pm. Gather at Elevate Co-Working, a women-centric co-working community in Wilmington, NC, for an evening of personal and community connection.

Coach Jen Carter will guide the evening through a mix of reflective writing and conversation, helping you connect with yourself and the women around you before the retreat begins. After a fulfilling career as a pediatric physical therapist, Jen followed her own journey of self-discovery into coaching, eventually starting her own business to help women release the unhelpful beliefs and patterns that keep showing up in their work, relationships, and routines.

Kay Lynn Hernandez will share a preview of kayaking and the adventure ahead. With over 20 years as a biologist and outdoor guide, from Caribbean nature parks to a remote Pacific wildlife refuge, Kay Lynn eventually started her own business here in Wilmington. Like Jen, she knows what it takes to build something of your own while raising two kids and juggling everything else life asks of you.

Part 2: Shark Tooth Island — Sunday, 8:00am–9:30am. Join us for a Shark Tooth Hunting Adventure on Shark Tooth Island. Expert kayaking guide and WOA owner, Kay Lynn Hernandez will provide you with fundamental kayak instruction before launching. After the short paddle across to the island, you will spend time hunting for sharks teeth before we launch for the last portion of this journey.

Part 3: Clarity on Keg Island — Sunday, 9:45am–12:00pm. Set against one of Wilmington's most scenic backdrops, Jen will create space for you to think clearly again and gain clarity on what you're seeking. Whether that's in your work, your relationships, your environment, or even within yourself, you'll take the first steps to move toward it.

Cost is $195 per person.
