Kayak & Surf Camp: Session 2

Wilmington Outdoor Adventures offers the only summer camp in the Cape Fear region that combines kayaking and surfing into an epic 4 day summer camp experience. The adventure camp is planned around the tides so that campers always have the tidal current working in their favor. No experience is necessary, but campers should be capable swimmers. Each day will include a kayaking eco-tour to Masonboro Island, sun/surf/beach games on the Reserve, and return kayaking.

Session 2 - Kayak & Surf Camp Schedule

Monday, July 22: 7:30am - 12:30pm 

Tuesday, July 23: 7:30am - 12:30pm

Wednesday, July 24: 9am - 2pm 

Thursday, July 25: 9am - 2pm

Friday, July 26: RAIN/WIND DATE

If a small craft advisory is issued or if a greater than 60% chance of thunderstorms is predicted on a camp day, we will reschedule to Friday.

What We Provide:

Every camper is provided a kayak, paddle and life jacket. We also provide first aid, kayak and surf instruction, extra water, beach games, and photographs to camper guardians throughout the camp week.

We provide a limited number of surfboards and boogie boards. Campers wanting a WOA soft-top surfboard will switch boards periodically. If you would like to bring your own surf/boogie board, make sure it has a leash. Boards will be temporarily retrofitted for pulling behind kayaks to Masonboro Island.

What You Should Pack:

Snacks/lunch, sunscreen, towel, full bottle of water, dry bag recommended. Phones are not recommended in camp in order to provide a holistic experience. Hats are recommended!

You will receive a summer camp health and waiver form for completion at least 2 weeks before camp begins. You will also receive a personal email from WOA owner and camp counselor, Kay Lynn, with additional details and a current weather forecast. Please review our camp cancellation policy before registering.
